Niagara Falls...The Grandaddy Of Them All!
Niagara Falls was the first planned stop on our two week road trip last Fall. We rolled in the night before, stayed in a Walmart parking lot and had a tour scheduled for the next morning in which the shuttle came to the parking lot to pick us up. The tour was scheduled to last 7 hours, and let me tell you, it went really quick. We started out with "The Maid of the Mist", a cool boat tour up to the falls, and yes we did get a little wet. Luckily our tour guide advised us on how to not get drenched, just wet. Next we did the "Cave of the Winds", which was a more close up tour on the American side of the falls and from there I did the "Hurricane Deck", where i experienced hurricane force winds created by the falls....it was a great experience. We then wondered around the Niagara Falls State Park grounds for a while and then loaded back up and went to the Canadian side of the falls. We visited the overlook tower, stopped and ate lunch and then did some informational tours on the Canadian side before wrapping up at the actual falls on the Canadian side. the view from that park was much better than the American side. We want to come back, as we were rushed with the tour and would like more time to experience some of these views. We recommend seeing both sides of the Falls, but if you are limited to one side, then choose the Canadian side first, then you can always come back to the American side, as who knows what the future holds regarding crossing borders. At the time of authoring this blog, we are in the Virus Pandemic and borders are currently closed. Below are some picture of our trip:
